About FDPS OOSH
Community-run care at the heart of Five Dock Public School
OUR STORY
Care That Grows with Your Child
FDPS OOSH was established to give Five Dock Public School families access to quality, affordable out of school hours care — right where their children already learn and play.
Run by the school's Parents & Citizens Association, we're a not-for-profit service built on the belief that every child deserves a safe, engaging place to be before and after school. Our educators know your children by name, and our programs are designed to complement the school day — not just fill the time.
From breakfast club in the morning to creative play in the afternoon, we're here to support working families across Five Dock, Abbotsford, Drummoyne, and the wider Inner West.
Our Philosophy
We recognise that childhood is a unique stage of development. At FDPS OOSH, we aim to provide a warm, safe, and stimulating environment which meets the needs of each child and fosters their self-esteem. Each child is encouraged to explore and follow individual interests and to develop at their own rate, through both structured and unstructured activities as well as self-initiated play.
P&C Governance
FDPS OOSH is owned and operated by the Five Dock Public School Parents & Citizens Association. We're not-for-profit, which means we don't answer to shareholders — we answer to you. Every dollar of fees is reinvested into staffing, resources, and the quality of care your child receives. The OOSH Subcommittee is nominated and elected yearly at the P&C AGM and oversees the management of the centre.
Meet Our Educators
Our team is the heart of FDPS OOSH. Every educator holds a current Working with Children Check and is trained in first aid, child protection, and anaphylaxis management. They're here because they genuinely love working with children.
